Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:20 PM

On Wednesday negotiated cash trade was inactive on light demand in all feeding
regions. Wednesday afternoon boxed beef cutout values were higher to sharply
higher on moderate demand and light to moderate offerings. Choice closed up 2.73
at 196.88 and Select closed up 1.48 at 192.63 on 208 total loads. The hide and
offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 13.17 per
cwt live, up 0.05 when compared to Tuesday's value. The estimated cattle
slaughter for Wednesday was reported at 118,000.February CME live cattle
contracts were up .45 to close at 129.35.

more frequently during active trading periods.
