Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:15 PM

Today’s Estimated Sales Volume: none

  On Friday negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all 
feeding regions. Weekly 5-Area negotiated cash trade per Mandatory Price 
Reporting. 13,310 in Texas, 15,678 in Kansas, 36,769 for Nebraska, 3,111 in 
Colorado and 27,228 in the Western Cornbelt. Friday afternoon boxed beef cutout 
values were weak to lower on light to moderate demand and moderate offerings. 
Choice was down .48 at 196.94 with Select down 1.66 to close at 182.65 on 194 
loads. The hide and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was 
estimated at 13.01 per cwt live, down -0.05 when compared to Thursday's value.
The estimated cattle slaughter for Friday was reported at 122,000, with Saturday 
at 23,000 for a week to date estimate of 652,000. June CME live cattle contracts 
were up .52 to close at 119.87.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating 
on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and 
more frequently during active trading periods.
