Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:15 PM
Today's Reported Sales Volume: 9,000
Today's Estimated Sales Volume: 25,000
Trading is moderate in Nebraska on good demand. Compared to last week,
live sales are 1.00 lower at 122.00-124.00, but are steady to 1.50 higher
than the trade in the West yesterday. Dressed sales are steady to firm with
the limited trade last week at 198.00, few sales up to 199.00. Trading
is light to moderate on good demand in Iowa with a few sales live sales
at 125.00, and dressed sales 1.00 to 3.00 higher than last week’s limited
test at 198.00-199.00.
Cattle slaughter for Thursday was estimated at 125,000. Boxed beef
values for Thursday were called lower on light to moderate demand and
moderate offerings. Choice closed down 1.77 at 188.01 and Select closed
down .71 at 182.19 on 201 total loads.
