A.  Following are some information that you might consider to record at calving for a commercial cow/calf operation. If you are seedstock producer, contact the breed organization and inquire what information they need you to record to calculate accurate records.

• Dam ID
• Calf ID
• Birth Date
• Sex of Calf
• Calf Birth Weight
• Any special markings on the calf
• Record if the dam had any difficult giving birth to the calf.
• Dam information such as: did she claim and mother the calf; disposition, etc.
