On November 12,, Larry Johnson reported the theft of 18 head of Black Angus mix, five to eight year old cows. The cows will have white ear tags in both ears with the “Crossroads Cattle Company” printed on the tags.
The theft was discovered during a roundup and when the other cattle were being loaded onto trucks for shipping. A good count had not been conducted on the cattle since last spring. It is possible the cows could have disappeared separately over a period of time or all at once.
These cattle are kept at the Old Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant property near De Soto, Kansas (several thousand acres) which has good fencing. However, there are many gates to the property and numerous individuals have keys to those gates.
IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION AS TO THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE MISSING AND PRESUMED STOLEN CATTLE, PLEASE CONTACT THE JOHNSON COUNTY, KANSAS SHERIFF’S OFFICE AT 913-715-5560 AND/OR EMAIL US AT TRACE@JOCOGOV.ORG
