2011 - A year of record growth for U.S. beef exports back
Beef exports were up 27 percent over a year ago at the end of September reports USDA. Most of this growth was the result of strong demand in Asia, where exports to Japan and South Korea were 36 and 47 percent higher than a year ago. Beef exports to Japan and South Korea alone at the end of the third quarter for 2011 accounted for 31 percent of the total U.S. beef exports.
