Widespread rains fell across much of central Texas, Oklahoma and southeast Louisiana last week. In north-central, central and south-central Texas, the rains provided much needed short-term relief for agriculture. Very little runoff was produced so rivers and streams were not recharged. San Antonio, ground-zero for the prolonged drought, received 4.66 inches of rain, but the drought in the region is far from over. In the West, little to no precipitation fell in the last week across the Pacifica Northwest, California and Nevada.
