The same values that helped build your ranch have also guided the development of Vance Publishing Corporation, which is celebrating its 75th year in business serving the agribusiness, beauty, woodworking and home organization industries. The privately held B2B publishing company employs 200 professionals at its headquarters in Lincolnshire, Ill., and offices in Lenexa, Kan., and St. Louis, Mo.

In remarks announcing the 75th anniversary milestone, Chairman William C. Vance said, “Since 1937, Vance Publishing Corporation has established itself as a business information leader within each market it serves. The company has grown organically as well as through strategic acquisitions.

“As a financially solid, privately held enterprise known for attracting the best talent and establishing critical connections with its professional audiences, Vance is in a position to act quickly to meet end-user and marketers’ unique information requirements. As our audiences have taken advantage of multi-platform content opportunities, Vance has significantly invested to ensure that our superior content is available wherever, whenever and however there is an information need.”

Drovers/CattleNetwork traces its roots to the Chicago Stockyards when Harvey Goodall launched The Chicago Daily Drovers Journal newspaper in 1873. Vance Publishing acquired the publication in 1966, and we have continued the tradition of serving cattlemen as “America’s Beef Business Source.”

Rapidly changing technology and information delivery systems have changed the needs and desires of cattlemen, and Vance Publishing responded by acquiring CattleNetwork in 2008. It was Vance’s first solely digital acquisition.

At the time of the CattleNetwork acquisition, Mr. Vance said, “It reinforces our position as the premier business-to-business multi-media communications resource in the markets we serve. We will continue to pursue acquisition opportunities that will increase services to our customers and strengthen our existing product lines.”

Today, Drovers/CattleNetwork provides news and management information to the beef industry through both print and digital products. We cover a wide spectrum of topics important to ranchers, feedyard operators, backgounders and industry affiliates.
