Daryl Wiegand of Drakesville, Iowa, built this pull-behind calf carrier to move newborn calves from his calving pastures to new pasture with low stress to the calf, the cow and himself.

"We can also vaccinate and castrate the calf while it is on the skid, so we aren't be bent over with the cow near us," writes Mr. Wiegand.

The long rope keeps you away from the cow when pulling so she doesn't get so nervous. Mr. Wiegand adds that the long skids and heavy framework make it stable and durable.
