As the manager of a farm, ranch or feedyard, you face a variety of challenges every day. And while it's likely that you have had training in solving mechanical problems or improving nutrition, few producers have been trained to manage the business's most important resource-its people.

The Employee Management for Production Agriculture Conference, sponsored by Kansas State University Research and Extension, is scheduled August 2 and 3, 2001 at he Embassy Suites, Airport in Kansas City. The conference will focus on helping manager's better deal with employees. Featured speakers will teach managers to improve communication, resolve employee conflicts and structure fair and competitive compensation packages.

Speakers, including Robert Milligan, Cornell University; Bernie Erven, Ohio State University; Sarah Fogleman, K-State University; and Ron Hanson, University of Nebraska, as well as other experts, will help participants learn about employee management and other related issues.

Registration fees include two meals. Before or on July 11, cost per person is $150. After July 11 registration fee is $200 per person.
