Feeder animals fed on partially slatted barn floors have both comfort and health. The solid sections of the floor provide greater cattle comfort and reduce the chance of feet and leg problems. Cattle are concentrated in the pen for proper manure disposal though the slats and to eliminate the need and cost of bedding. The slats are pre-cast concrete six inches thick, set on cement piers and columns. A 12-foot deep pit below the pens allows manure to be stored up to a year, lowering the cost of labor and waste disposal.
