According to a new survey from the National Institute for Animal Agriculture, producers are most concerned about who is going to pay for the National Animal ID System, not whether the program should be mandatory or voluntary. More than 20 percent of respondents said that funding is their biggest trepidation regarding the implementation of an ID system. And, more than 75 percent of respondents believe that USDA needs more federal dollars for fiscal year 2005 than its $33 million request.
