June stocker/feeder prices continued spiraling downward after reaching record highs in April. Prices for all classes of stocker and feeder cattle declined for the second straight month after a six-month rally. Calf and yearling prices fell $4 to $10 per hundredweight, according to Drovers/CattleNetwork’s exclusive 50-market auction summary. Steer calves weighing 400 to 500 pounds saw average bids of $139.41 per hundredweight, down $10.69 from May. Yearling steers weighing 600 to 700 pounds lost $8.05 per hundredweight. Heifer calves sold for an average of $125.88 per hundredweight, a decline of $7.88. Yearling heifers weighing more than 600 pounds saw average bids of $112.17 per hundredweight.
