All classes of stocker and feeder cattle posted significant gains during November. Calf and yearling prices improved $3 to $6 per hundredweight, according to Drovers’ exclusive 50-market auction summary. Steer calves weighing 400 to 500 pounds saw average bids of $125.58 per hundredweight, an increase of $6.35 over October’s average. Yearling steers weighing 600 to 700 pounds gained $2.87 per hundredweight to average $106.65. Heifer calves sold for an average of $110.38 per hundredweight, a gain of $4.65. Yearling heifers weighing more than 600 pounds saw average bids of $96.80 per hundredweight, an increase of $2.84.
