Yearling steers and heifers were steady at all markets, while steer and heifer calves were $3 to $4 lower. Prices for steer calves weighing 400 to 500 pounds averaged $109.56 per hundredweight during July, a decline of $4.17 per hundredweight. Yearling steers weighing 600 to 700 pounds declined just 30 cents per hundredweight to $105.48. Heifer calves weighing 400 to 500 pounds declined $3.84 per hundredweight to $100.61. Yearling heifers weighing more than 600 pounds averaged $94.94 per hundredweight, a decline of only 9 cents per hundredweight during July.
