Feedlot If the last five years are any indication of the next five, there’s going to be a slow transition moving more cattle into Nebraska feedlots than the current number one state of Texas.

The prediction is forecasted by a University of Nebraska-Lincoln research team who identifies proximity to beef processing plants and corn stockpiles in Nebraska as key factors of the shift.

The recent years of drought have also forced cattle to move north in search of greener pastures prior to moving into feedlots. Once the cattle have been transported north, it’s saves on transportation costs to move them to a closer feedlot in Kansas or Nebraska.

Kate Brooks, one of the study authors and an extension livestock marketing specialist, told the Lincoln Journal Star the corn and distillers’ byproducts from the ethanol plants in Nebraska provide ample feed for the feedlots.

According to a release, Nebraska currently ranks first in commercial cattle slaughter, second in cattle and calves receipts, third in meat production and fourth in all livestock and products cash receipts and beef cows.

Congrats Nebraska! At less than two million population your infrastructure is about to be strained to the limit, your small communities, hospitals, schools, state services and charities slowly bankrupted by the influx of "immigrants" who work the revolving door jobs in the Mexican gang controlled slaughterhouses et al. The colonization should be swift and thorough. Nebraska, the next California?!?

Being a European Beef importer and having been rewarded with Honor Citizenship of Nebraska by The Governor Mr. Heineman, I am more than happy to see that there is a positive outlook for the incoming years and we will keep doing our best in promoting HGP-Free Nebraska beef across Europe.
