Wisconsin authorities blame heavy agriculture equipment for damaging the state’s roads and bridges, and now they want to find a balance, according to WXOW News.
“Establishing some maximum width restrictions for these vehicles, and then we’ve also been doing some analysis to try to understand if there’s any additional weight that could be allowed without causing additional stress or strain on the infrastructure,” Dave Vieth, Director, Bureau of Highway Maintenance said.
Bluffs are also an issue, which can limit sight lines on the roads and lead to safety concerns.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a town hall meeting in Cashton, Wis., on Aug. 28 to discuss these roadway issues further.
