Jake Worthington, an 18-year-old from La Porte, Texas, will take to the stage as one of three finalists vying to win the popular singing competition.

Even before Worthington made it to the final showdown, the country music sensation made sure the world knew how proud he was of his rural roots, which includes a membership in the National FFA Organization.

Worthington is also a member of the La Porte FFA Chapter and discussed his FFA experience during his first performance earlier this season.

“Some of the best times I had in my high school experience were being in FFA, taking classes on agriculture,” Worthington said. “I’ve learned how to feed and raise animals. I plan on going to a junior college and hopefully finding a way to get in to (Texas) A&M.”
