The second annual “Beef Showdown” at the Colorado State Fair creates family-friendly competition as father/daughter or mother/son teams vie for blue ribbon glory.  Each team will receive a mystery basket made up of six locally grown products. It will be their challenge to use all of the products to create a wonderful culinary masterpiece consisting of an entrée, side dish, and a dessert.

The Showdown, sponsored by the Colorado CattleWomen, is free to enter with a total of $750 in cash prizes. Two teams will compete at the same time and must finish in the time allowed for reviewing their basket and creating their plan, cooking, plating, and naming their recipes.

The contest consists of two heats on August 30, 2015; registration is now open with an entry deadline of August 7, 2015. The Colorado CattleWomen will choose four sets of father/daughter or mother/son teams from the entries submitted.
