During the upcoming 2015 Cattle Industry Convention in San Antonio, Zoetis will once again sponsor the 22nd Cattlemen’s College on Tuesday, Feb. 3 and Wednesday, Feb. 4. This year’s educational event includes seven tracks with 21 sessions. Tracks include:
· Rebuilding the Nations Cow-herd
· The Future of Beef Production
· Animal and Ranch Management
· Customer Relations
· The Vision of Young Cattlemen
· Keeping the Beef Story Alive
A bonus track will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, focused on “Feeding to Increase the Quality, Consistency and Competitiveness from Market Cows.” Speakers will include meat scientists Gary Smith, Keith Belk, Daryl Tatum and Dale Woerner, Colorado State University. This hands-on class will help the attendee improve the quality, consistency and competitiveness of beef produced from market cows; identify production practices that improve the value of market cows; determine the effects of varying levels of supplemental feeding; recognize the differences between different types of cows; and learn value concepts at the feedlot, packing plant and retail levels.
Following that session, participants will enjoy a Texas BBQ Welcome Reception from 6:30 to 8:00.
