The USDA projected red meat production (beef, pork & lamb) last week at 1.0357 billion pounds.  This is the most red meat produced in one week this year and on record.

Furthermore, the USDA projects the U.S. produced 2.05 billion of red meat over the past 2 weeks.  If realized, this also will be the most red meat produced in a two-week period on record.  The U.S. has only produced over 2 billion pounds of red meat two other times in history.  The last time that the U.S. produced over 2 billion pounds of red meat was in October 2012.

The U.S. produced over 1 billion pounds of red meat for five straight weeks once in history (October and November 2010).  The U.S. has produced over 1 billion of red meat in one week 26 times before the last 2 weeks.
