U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman and the Obama administration have done intensive preparation on the possibility of a lame-duck vote on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He said he feels comfortable that House and Senate Democrats who voted for trade promotion authority last year will vote in favor of TPP, though he said it is important not to take anyone or their vote for granted. 

Across the aisle, the White House is seeing support, according to Froman who has met with nearly a hundred House Republicans about the agreement.
