In July, Culver’s launched its “Thank You, Farmers” initiative with simple goals: thank the nation’s hard-working farmers and provide financial support for future farmers.

220,735 ways to thank farmersNow, after four months of thanking and raising donations at nearly 500 of Culver’s restaurants, the company had raised more than $220,735 for the National FFA Organization, local FFA chapters and farm families.

This donation is preliminary and will climb as more individual restaurants announce their local chapter donations in the coming weeks.

"We're thrilled with the support our guests have offered for Thank You, Farmers," said Craig Culver, CEO and co-founder of Culver's. "Coming from a place connected to the farms that produce the dairy and grow the food that's made the restaurant what it is, celebrating and supporting farmers just feels right."

Culver’s invited the public to write a brief thank-you note to farmers through their website and Facebook page. Culver’s donated $1 to the National FFA Organization for each thank-you note submitted, totaling $50,000.

But their support of the FFA won’t end in 2013. David Stidham, vice president of marketing at Culver's, announced plans to support other farming organizations in 2014, including 4-H and K-12 agriculture programs.

The campaign was well-received by their fans, with messages of gratitude still being shared on the company’s Facebook page.

“I want to thank EVERY FARMER for all their hard work and if it weren't for all of you - none of us would be eating, or fueling our vehicles. THANK YOU,” one person wrote earlier this week.

“I want to thank every farmer out there feeding the world. Without you we would all go hungary. It takes a lot blood sweat and tears to do what you do. Normal people complain about putting in a 8 hour day, but farmers go nonstop when they need to. Keep up the good job. I'm proud to say I have friends that are farmers. Thank you again,” another added.
