The Iowa State University Block and Bridle Club will host an animal learning day on April 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Learning Center, located at 2516 Mortensen Road.
Iowa State students and industry leaders will share information with the public about animal agriculture production. The educational event is organized and hosted by students at Iowa State.
During the event there will be a variety of hands-on activities and informational displays about various aspects of agriculture. Milking a cow, holding baby chicks, petting baby pigs and learning about farm safety are just a few of the activities planned for the event.
The purpose of the event is to give the public a better understanding of agricultural practices and build awareness about agricultural industries and commodities. Experts will be available to answer questions.
The event will include a "Taste of Iowa" segment, which will include cooking tips, recipes and tastings.
