Keri Jelks was named Cattle Woman of the Year by the Arizona State Cowbelles in Tucson on July 22.

Jelks' and her late husband purchased Diamond C Ranch in 1973, and later the Triangle M. Together they ran a crossbred cow/calf operation that follows the Alan Savory method of holistic land management, reported Betty Barr for The Weekly Bulletin. Since her husband's death, she has continued to run the ranch with the help of her sons.

Jelks has been a member of the Cowbelles group since buying the ranch, serving in many capacities over the years, including being elected president of the Arizona State Cowbelles in 1983.
