In one of the worst cases of animal neglects Muskogee County, Okla., deputies have ever seen, dozens of animals were found dead on a ranch.
At least six head of cattle and 30 horses were found dead on property owned by Dan McWilliams, who was arrested by police. Several neighbors called the police to report the dead animals on the property. Police say that when McWilliams saw the police, he ran and had to be chased down by the deputies, Erin Conrad reported for an Oklahoma television news service.
So far, the police have discovered at least 200 head of cattle and 100 horses that are in poor health on the ranch. Animals are malnourished and dealing with parasites.
