Nutrition Physiology Company, LLC (NPC) and Chr. Hansen today announced that Chr. Hansen has received regulatory clearance and completed the previously announced acquisition of NPC.

NPC, which is committed to enhancing the health and productivity of animals with its products BOVAMINE®, BOVAMINE DEFEND®, BOVAMINE® DAIRY and POULTRIMAX®, will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chr. Hansen, a leading developer and manufacturer of microbial solutions for animal health globally.

There is a strong strategic fit between NPC’s products and Chr. Hansen’s animal health business, providing access to new markets, manufacturing and supply chain efficiencies, and product innovation, which will further enhance the service offering to customers in the livestock industry through a broader range of high-quality products.

“NPC has a history of serving as a trusted partner to the cattle and poultry industries, supplying innovative probiotic microbial solution products,” said Tony Arnold, chairman and CEO of NPC. “Becoming part of Chr. Hansen will allow us to expand the market for our products and better serve customers, with access to more extensive resources and a global footprint.”

NPC customers will continue to work with their existing sales contacts, and ordering and invoicing processes will remain the same.

“Today, we welcome 52 new Chr. Hansen employees and I’m very excited to start the journey we have ahead to help farmers improve productivity and health through natural means,” said Cees de Jong, CEO of Chr. Hansen Holding A/S. “The combined business of Chr. Hansen and NPC creates a broader platform in animal health, which is pivotal in our pursuit of future growth within microbial solutions to the livestock industry.”
