Buddy the dog can be described as many things, but one of these traits stands above the rest – loyal.
According to the San Angelo (Texas) Standard-Times, what started as a routine call for Mason County, Texas, emergency responders turned into a heartwarming reminder of canine devotion.
Last week, an ambulance carrying 85-year-old rancher JR Nicholson was flagged down by a motorist during the 20-mile journey to the hospital. The driver explained there was a dog on the side of the ambulance.
That dog was Buddy, a 35-pound Beagle mix who was making the trip to be with Nicholson.
“We didn’t have anything else to do but to load the dog up and put him in the ambulance and take him to the ER with us,” said Tanner Brown, an emergency medical technician.
