The average price of gasoline in the U.S. is up 5 cents this week. Gas prices reached $2.26 on average, bringing that 27-day average price to $2.72.

The West Coast region saw the largest increase in gas prices this week, seeing a 10 cent increase. Prices reached $2.45, making the region one of two regions with the highest gas prices. The Central Atlantic region also saw gas prices reach $2.45 after seeing a 6 cent pricec increase.

Washington state also saw a 10 cent price increase. With gas prices reaching $2.38 in Washington, the state comes in with the second highest gas prices. New York state still has the highest gas prices, with prices coming in at $2.44.
