Our panel of cattle industry experts who make up the Monday Market Sentiment guessed a little low with an average guess of $118.68 per hundredweight. This week, the panel projects the 5-Area price to increase to $128.82.
Choice boxed beef dropped slightly throughout this week, starting off on October 7 at $203.58 per hundredweight and moving to $208.46 per hundredweight by October 13. The 27-day average price now rests at $219.27.
Choice primal rib increased during the week. Last week, primal rib kicked off October 7 at $300 per hundredweight and ended October 13 at $310.35 per hundredweight.
