This week the 5-Area Accumulated Average Cattle Price continued it's decrease for a second week with a hard drop to $126.98.
Our panel of cattle industry experts who make up the Monday Market Sentiment had an average guess of $130.04 per hundredweight, which was just a little optimistic. This week, the panel projects the 5-Area price to fall to $126.46.
Choice boxed beef increased slightly throughout this week, starting off on November 10 at $216.57 per hundredweight and falling to $209.04 per hundredweight by November 9. The 27-day average price now rests at $214.71.
Choice primal rib jumped during the week. Last week, primal rib kicked off November 10 at $357.27 per hundredweight and ended November 16 at $355.90 per hundredweight.
Each week the Cattle Trader Center, on behalf of Merck Animal Health, awards a $100 gift certificate from Cabela's to the industry leader whose forecast comes closest to the 5-Area cash trade number reported by the USDA. The most recent winner was Scott Keeling, Keeling Feeders.
