This week the 5-Area Accumulated Average Cattle Price slowed down on it's decrease, but still fell to $125.
Our panel of cattle industry experts who make up the Monday Market Sentiment had an average guess of $126.46 per hundredweight, which was just a little optimistic. This week, the panel projects the 5-Area price to increase to $127.20.
Choice boxed beef increased slightly throughout this week, starting off on November 17 at $208.37 per hundredweight and falling to $202.79 per hundredweight by November 23. The 27-day average price now rests at $214.24.
Choice primal rib jumped during the week. Last week, primal rib kicked off November 17 at $363.25 per hundredweight and ended November 23 at $368.46 per hundredweight.
Each week the Cattle Trader Center, on behalf of Merck Animal Health, awards a $100 gift certificate from Cabela's to the industry leader whose forecast comes closest to the 5-Area cash trade number reported by the USDA. The most recent winner was Garrett Lister, ILS Beef.
