This week the 5-Area Accumulated Average Cattle Price fell after a slight increase last week to hit $150.95.
Our panel of cattle industry experts who make up the Monday Market Sentiment shot a little high with $151.63 per hundredweight. This week, the panel projects the 5-Area price to increase to $149.17 per hundredweight.
Choice boxed beef continued to fall this week, starting off on July 7 at $244.67 per hundredweight and dropping to $236 per hundredweight by July 13. The fall moved the 27-day average to $248.19 per hundredweight.
Choice primal rib also saw a major decrease throughout the week. Last week, primal rib kicked off July 7 at $343.84 per hundredweight and ended July 13at $336.35 per hundredweight. The largest decrease was $15 between July 8 and July 9. The price movement set the 27-day average to $351.24 per hundredweight.
