Our panel of cattle industry experts who make up the Monday Market Sentiment was high with an average guess of $145.68 per hundredweight. This week, the panel projects the 5-Area price to increase to $143.67.
Choice boxed beef dropped slightly throughout this week, starting off on September 2 at $241.21 per hundredweight and moving to $239.16 per hundredweight by September 8. The 27-day average price now rests at $241.25.
Choice primal rib fell as well over the holiday week. Last week, primal rib kicked off September 2 at $341.54 per hundredweight and ended September 8 at $339.48 per hundredweight.
