The 5-Area Accumulated Average Cattle Price dropped this week from $139.18 on March 21 to $136.16 on March 28. 

The panel of cattle industry experts who make up our Monday Market Sentiment were optimistic with a prediction of $139.10 per hundredweight. This week, they lowered their estimation to $135.75 per hundredweight.

Choice boxed beef fell through the week, starting March 22 at $227.91 per hundredweight, and ending March. 28 on $225.28 per hundredweight.

Each week the Cattle Trader Center, on behalf of Merck Animal Health, awards a $100 gift certificate from Cabela's to the industry leader whose forecast comes closest to the 5-Area cash trade number reported by the USDA. The most recent winners was Wayne Lee, Cattle Empire.
