This week the 5-Area Accumulated Average Cattle Price dropped further this week, ending up at $145.49.
Our panel of cattle industry experts who make up the Monday Market Sentiment guessed a bit low with $146.69 per hundredweight. This week, the panel projects the 5-Area price to drop to $145.66 per hundredweight.
Choice boxed beef dropped slightly this week, starting off on July 21 at $233.32 per hundredweight and dropping to $232.37 per hundredweight by July 27. The largest fall was from Thursday to Friday when prices changed from $232.59 to $230.70. The fall moved the 27-day average to $243.07.
Choice primal rib also saw a drop. Last week, primal rib kicked off July at 324.20 per hundredweight and ended July 27 at $323.01 per hundredweight. The price movement set the 27-day average to $339.06 per hundredweight.
