Feeder cattle prices have risen slightly, after two days of slipping. Prices Monday hit $223.40, gaining 97 cents since Friday. This gain brings the 27-day average to $222.53. Live cattle prices, however, have continued their downward slide, dropping another 15 cents to $160.45.
Lean hog prices took a big hit after seeing gains on Friday, dipping $2.38 down to $76.65. This price fall brings the 27-day average to $81.92.
Crop prices are generally on the decline, with the exception of corn. Corn gained 2 cents Monday, hitting $4.02. The 27-day average for corn prices is now $4.01. Soybeans took the largest hit, falling 38 cents. Wheat dropped 8 cents, bringing the 27-day average to $6.05.
