Retail gasoline prices fell an average of 7 cents on Monday to $2. This drop brings the 27-week average price down to $2.97.

New England saw the largest price drops at 11 cents on average. The Midwest, which already had some of the lowest prices in the U.S., saw the smallest drop in prices with only a 4 cent reduction in gas prices.

Florida and Washington state both saw 11 cent gas price decreases on Monday, while Minnesota actually saw a 4 cent gas price increase.
