Retail gasoline prices dropped an average of six cents across the United States this week to $2.28, bringing the 27-day average price to $2.53. The largest fall this week was on the West Coast, where prices fell eight cents to $2.78, while the smallest fall was three cents to $2.35 in the New England region.

Washington fell the most of the states, dropping nine cents to $2.74. Ohio was the only state to increase this week, jumping ten cents to $2.22.
