Retail gasoline prices fell an average of five cents this week to hit $2.17 throughout the United States. The largest fall was in the Midwest, where prices dropped seven cents to $2.22, followed closely by the Gulf Coast, where they saw a six cent drop. The lowest decrease was in the New England region with only a one-cent difference from last week.

The highest retail gasoline prices are in the West Coast region at $2.45, a full 50 cents higher than the lowest prices of $1.95 in the Gulf Coast region.

Ohio saw the largest fall of the states, dropping 18 cents this week to $2.11. The lowest fall was in New York with four cents.
