After last week’s Sterling Beef Profit Tracker report showed feedlot margins digging themselves closer to being out of the red from losing $148.98 per head to losing $11.71 per head, prices tanked during the week ending July 11, to losing $108.70 per head. This time a year ago, feedlot margins were bringing $302.56 per head.

Packer margins followed suit, dropping from $140.05 per head during the week ending July 4, to $33.42 per head during the week ending July 11.
