U.S. beef export shipments increased this week, moving 5 percent higher than the previous week to 10,467 metric tons. The 27-week average is now at 11,863 tons.
The primary destinations was Japan, bringing 3,600 MT. Other destinations include South Korea (2,300 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Taiwan (800 MT).
Beef export sales were up this week to 12,804 MT, up 54 percent from the previous week and 57 percent from the prior 4-week average. Exports of 10,500 MT were up 6 percent from the previous week, but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for several destinations, including Hong Kong (4,500 MT), South Korea (3,600 MT), Mexico (1,300 MT), Japan (1,200 MT), and Canada (900 MT).
