Consider the connections between Jedi masters, droids, and farming you should.

The latest Star Wars movie Episode 7: The Force Awakens is about to debut on theater screens across the world much to the delight of fans of the series. It also has us reflecting about some of the Star Wars universe’s links to agriculture.

Top of the list is Luke Skywalker, who happens to be one of the most famous farm boys in the galaxy. He grew up on his aunt and uncle’s moisture farm on the desert planet of Tatooine. Skywalker took the work ethic he learned on the farm with him across space to help bring balance to the force as a Jedi.

Like a lot of farm kids, Skywalker grew up hunting. Who could forget his experience shooting womp rats in his T-16 back home helping bring down the Death Star.
