Oregon Weekly Hay Report

Compared to December 4:  Prices trended steady to lower compared to the same

quality last week with weak demand from the dairies and particularly the export

market which has seen very little trading with more stringent regulations coming

from China. Less trade has occurred going south to California as well with dairies

holding out to purchase additional hay due partially to the rain they have received

recently providing the possibility for additional grazing ground and a potential

better harvest next year for hay in California.  Trade activity was light with the

holidays coming up and inclement weather hindering some trade.  Several producers

have sold all that they plan to sell for this season while some have product they

are holding onto until after the the new year to sell.  All prices are in dollars

per ton and FOB unless otherwise stated.
