During the past several weeks Agri Beef Co. has been working with the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) to resolve an error that occurred relating to the importation of cattle from Canada. Documentation related to 198 spayed heifers and 204 steers incorrectly stated their destination to be the Agri Beef owned - El Oro feedlot in Moses Lake, WA rather than the ranch location where the cattle are currently located.

The company is working closely with WSDA, USDA and the rancher to rectify the situation and will be shipping the cattle to a quarantined section of El Oro and will be testing all the cattle for TB (Brucellosis testing is not required for spayed heifers). The cattle are uniquely identified with electronic animal identification tags and Agri Beef’s electronic ID systems provide complete accountability for each and every animal.

Agri Beef Co. is a 40 year old family owned company with ranching, feedlot and packing operations providing marketing options for cattlemen throughout the Northwest. You can learn more about Agri Beef Co. at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jX7ESkY-5o.
